As we move speedily towards Christmas and the New Year, now is a good time to reflect on the past year and to look ahead to a new one. Thinking about my time at Clearbox so far, I can hardly believe it’s been four months since I first joined the company.
Having walked out of university and into Clearbox with no professional PR experience, I feel like I have learned and experienced a lot in the past few months. Since my first day the role has evolved, our team has expanded and our client list grown.
I have learned that relationships are the key to success in the PR industry. Working closely with colleagues, clients and journalists is crucial to productivity. This means understanding the objectives of our clients and knowing how to add some creative flair to help them reach their targets. It also means working seamlessly as a team, something that is made very easy when working at such a fun and hardworking agency.
I have also started to see the benefits of meticulous organisation. Preparation, planning and documenting what we do on a day to day basis is essential to effective time management and ensuring that we’re always providing the best possible work for our clients.
Most enjoyably, I’ve had the chance to unlock and exercise my creative side. Through Clearbox I get to write pieces and help come up with new and exciting ideas. I’ve loved seeing them brought to life through events, videos, blogs, consumer experiences and press coverage over the past few months.
Of course, I still have a lot to learn – but practice makes perfect. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for 2017!
