Chris McGowan to host food demonstrations at CATEX 2015
5th Feb 2015: Brakes, one of Ireland’s leading foodservice providers, has secured the former head chef of the world-famous Corrigan’s restaurant in London to host a culinary masterclass at CATEX 2015.
Chris McGowan, star of TV show Great British Menu and former Head Chef / Culinary Director at Lindsay House and at Corrigan’s Mayfair in London, will host a range of cookery demonstrations at the Brakes stand at CATEX, held at the RDS in Dublin from 17-19 February. Chris will be in attendance at the Brakes CATEX stand, located at N1 – 28, and will put his world class skills on show at 12pm, 1pm and 4pm. Chris will be demonstrating some of his favourite dishes to visitors at the show using the finest local ingredients supplied by Brakes.
Joining Chris at the event with Brakes will be number of the company’s local suppliers including Keenan’s Seafood, Robinson Meats, Readychef, Manor Farm and Morelli’s Ice Cream. CATEX attracts some of Ireland’s leading figures from the foodservice and hospitality industries and Brakes will use its substantial presence at the event to showcase some of the local produce it sourced alongside their innovative award winning own brand range.

Speaking ahead of the event, Brakes Ireland Sales Director Gareth Clements added: “This year, our CATEX experience will be bigger and better than ever and we’re really looking forward to welcoming Chris to our stand, alongside our local suppliers.”

As well as Chris’ masterclasses, Robinson’s Meats, Readychef and Keenan’s Seafood and Unilever Ireland will also show off their culinary skills. CATEX attendees will also have the chance to sample tasters from a wide range of locally sourced and Brakes own brand products. CATEX 2015 takes place at Dublin’s RDS from 17th – 19th February and Brakes can be found at stand N1 – 28.
