JENNY BRISTOW ADDS A LITTLE SPARKLE TO THE KNIFE AND FORK THIS CHRISTMAS

Ireland’s Good Food Ambassador, Jenny Bristow, will be joining Head Chef at Belfast’s Knife and Fork restaurant, Garreth Wilson, on Saturday 7th December to host a festive showcase for those wanting to add a little sparkle to their menus this Christmas.

From 12pm, the country’s much loved TV chef will join Garreth to showcase how the restaurant’s renowned deli is adding a festive twist to its lunch offering before sitting down with guests to enjoy a delicious lunch and answer any questions they may have.

With a range of fresh and appetising dishes, the Knife and Fork is known for its healthy lunchtime deli and the South Belfast restaurant has enlisted the help of Jenny to demonstrate how these dishes can be recreated at home. Garreth and Jenny have worked closely to develop a beautiful Christmas showcase, capturing all the flavours of the festive season with a deli twist and the pair are looking forward to welcoming guests into the restaurant.

Guests will be greeted with a glass of mulled cider on arrival before enjoying a demonstration of how to prepare a range of fabulously festive healthy dishes at home. Diners will then enjoy a delicious deli lunch and will be given time to chat to Jenny and Garreth and ask for advice on Christmas cooking or how to introduce healthy alternatives into their meals at home.

Jenny commented: “The beauty of the Knife and Fork deli is that it offers something for everyone, even those with alternative dietary requirements. A turkey dinner with all the trimmings isn’t necessarily suitable for everyone and, when compiling the Christmas deli menu, Garreth and I worked together to offer solutions for those who may be watching their weight, guests who don’t eat meat or people who might suffer from diabetes or coeliac disease.

“We’ll be demonstrating how to prepare beautiful deli dishes such as warm chicken salad with red onions and spinach and cous cous salad with pomegranate and mint. We will also be showcasing some delicious ‘winter warmers’ such as butternut squash soup with chorizo and chilli cream and honey roasted pumpkin tart. Best of all, guests will get to sit down and enjoy all of the dishes following the masterclass so it will be a really lovely afternoon – perfect for a get-together with some friends or family who share a passion for cooking.”

Garreth Wilson added: “It has been an absolute delight to work alongside Jenny on this showcase. At the Knife and Fork, we offer a lunchtime deli from Monday-Saturday which can be enjoyed as a takeaway or in the restaurant as a sit-in meal. We are always revising and adding to our offering and it was great to invite Jenny in to wave her magic wand over the deli and give it a festive twist for Christmas.

“I spend a lot of my time in the kitchen preparing the food so I’m really looking forward to being out in the restaurant for this event; interacting with our guests and answering any questions they may have.”
