Fast and Furious, THE iconic car movie franchise, launched the seventh film in the series and the team from Universal Pictures brought us onboard to help get the press and public excited about it. 

If you’ve seen a Fast film, you’ll know that it centres around high-octane, fast-paced car action. Watching the movie is an exhilarating experience in itself, but what if you could drive like the stars of the film? 

It was this idea that led us to create an experiential event for the media at Mondello Park in Dublin, where they got behind the wheel of a car. We’re not just talking any car here - it was a modified, two seater stunt car and in the passenger seat was one of Ireland’s leading stunt racers. 

After a few laps of a specially-created stunt track at Mondello Park as passengers, the media got to drive by themselves and we timed their performances, awarding a prize at the end of the day to the most Fast and Furious driver. 

Handbrake turns, drifting, skidding and crashing through our movie-themed props awaited the press on their laps, and everyone did a sterling job of driving like a Hollywood stunt driver. 

The experiential campaign produced some fantastic national TV, radio, print and online media coverage in Ireland and generated amazing social content, but the biggest job of all was taking influential figures inside the world of Fast and Furious for the day, which the team pulled off at breakneck speed.
