The Secret Life of Pets

Summer 2016

The Secret Life of Pets is a brilliant animated movie about what your pets get up to when you’re not home. From the creators of Despicable Me, the film is a fun and raucous look at the lives our pets lead through the day when they’re home alone and it was only fitting that, when asked to launch the movie by Universal Pictures, we got some real life, cheeky pets involved.

To communicate the core message of the film - that pets have big personalities - we tracked down 12 Irish celebrities who are pet owners and animal lovers including Rosanna Davison, Holly Carpenter, Kathryn Thomas, PJ Gallagher and Adele King. In a twist of fate, it wasn’t them who we wanted to take pictures of.

It was their pets.

Over the course of two crazy days just outside Dublin, we welcomed some of Ireland’s favourite famous faces, along with their pets, to a secret location for a photo shoot. We set up some cracking shots with the pets, including dogs and cats, where the animals took on the personality of their owner.

The photographs captured on the day were then blown up, framed and used in The Secret Life of Pets Exhibition in Dublin. The gallery was launched to the press and then opened to the public for a month during the film’s release.

Once the event was finished, we auctioned the pictures off in aid of the ISPCA to help animals in need across Ireland.

The gallery and the images generated some amazing press coverage across print, broadcast and online media and welcomed hundreds of pets and movie fans to the exhibition during its month-long run.
