Black Bush Block Party
May 2017
The sun was shining as we kicked off the inaugural Black Bush Block Party in Belfast’s Filthy Quarter. The event was an explosion of creative energy saluting the fearless, the spirited and the defiant.
Showcasing three of the Bushmills #AnswerTheCall collaborators and combining beard sculpting, live street art, Black & White serves, Black Bush-infused tacos and an ATC-branded DJ box, the Shoreditch-inspired outdoor party was a massive success - both online and offline.
Created in collaboration with Kevin Pyke, food guru and owner of Londonderry-based street food start-up Pyke ‘N’ Pommes, Kevin shared his street food concept with a Belfast audience for the very first time and served up a menu of Black Bush-inspired tacos including ‘Beef Brisket Slow-Cooked in Black Bush’ and ‘Pork Al Pastor with a Black Bush Glaze’, to name a few.
Kevin was joined by Master Barber, Garry Jackson, who carried out beard sculpting while Street Artist, Glen Molloy, created live art featuring four Northern Ireland heroes.
Attendees enjoyed refreshing Bushmills serves while listening to beats played by Belfast legend, DJ Jay Kay from the branded stage.
